Cheering the life every moment

Second Inning of my blogging career!!

Welcome back!! Thank you very much for visiting this blog. I had started this blog to justify to my passion of writing. But, it was unfortunate to leave the blog in its infancy stage. But, finally, I have decided to revive it again after a long punctuation,  and this time, I am hoping to take it long.

I am continuing this blog from a new venue, the United Kingdom. Sadly, I did not write a lot about Cyprus, the place where I had initiated this blog site. There were so many things to say, but the time was scarce. Hopefully, there would be no such circumstances in the UK. This blog will write on boundless topics, anything that attracts me. I have another blog on cricket. You can visit this blog to catch my ideas on recent activities of cricket. That’s all folks. See you in the next post.

About Hi5

Is there necessity to define Hi5?? I bet you have your hi5 account, don’t you? So, how’d you find Hi5? For me, Hi5 has been a boon as I’ve come in contact with my old missing buddies and made many new friends. I’ve not met many of them for decade, so I’ll acknowledge the webteam for giving us such a nice website. Though there are several other similar sites on the web world viz. myspace, cyworld, friendster, orkut, blah blah, but none of them has won my faith as by hi5. Like always, I am not here to advertise anything (nor I am being paid for that). I just mean to give some previlage to the great site that connect me through the missing links.

By the way, how many hours do you spend surfing hi5? I see lots of people having a huge amount of photos and bulk of friends on their list. My God!! One of my friends has 1273 friends on her hi5… that is 10 times of mine. I wonder how she gets so many folks. Some ppl still have time to update their page regularly, while I am using the same boring index page since a long time. I have really no patience to spend my time in facelifting my hi5 appearance. Well, may be in some days, I will do that.

Gurkhas- A legend or mercenary

200+ Gurkhas are recruited per year!! Thousands of young Nepali lads compete to occupy those 200+ seats. The passion of being one of these Gurkhas is high among these 18-22 years old young guns, who can do anything to get selected. Whether undergoing the tough selection process or giving up their other dreams, nothing can have superior priority than the name ” British Gurkha”!!! Why is there so much charm about it? Why do the immature Nepalese give up their whole personal life to serve for the country, which is not their own?

Since 100 and more years, Nepalese Gurkhas have fought and won many wars for Britons. Whether it be world war I or II, Gulf War or War against Terrorism, Gurkha squad has always been the ultimate choice of British regiments. There’s many stories about the courage of Gurkhas, one of those is during Falklands War of 1982, when merely hearing that Gurkha had arrived, forced the mighty Argentinians to give up war. Gurkha regiment has won the most number of Victoria Cross that itself speaks their bravery. In one way, I am proud of being the countrymen of Gurkha land. But, sometimes this fact tortures me that these Gurkhas give away their precious life for the foreign land for no good reason. How do we connect ourselves with the British? We are similar in no way. In fact, many other countries refer us as ” mercenary”, an armed force working on rent. We are hired by British since we are cheap labours. Where will we stand in front of the real British troops? Nowhere!!! We have no similar facilities, so why should we be proud of being “British mercenaries”? I support our ex-Gurkhas, who are fighting for our identity. What do you want to be called, a “British Gurkha” or a “British Mercenaries”?

So far in ACC U-19 cricket

I’m very much contempt with the performance of Nepal U-19 team so far. It is playing like a champion. The wins against both Singapore and UAE were power boosters to Nepal side. The bowlers are terrific and the fielding is superb. However, I am worried to see that our mid-orders can’t be exposed so far. There is no much batting practice for batsmen like Akash Gupta and Antim Thapa, who are the pillars of Nepal’s batting. Their performances are crucial in semi and final as we can expect one to one challenge from Afghanistan and Malayasia (most probably).

For me, the semi-final will picture somewhat like this:

Nepal Vs Malaysia (or Hongkong)

Afghanistan Vs UAE

In two batting innings so far, Nepal doesn’t seem much into trouble against the opponent’s attack, thanks to the high level performance by Gyanendra Malla and Paras Khadka. In both occasion, they stood up, exhibiting the terrific experience they gained from the last world cup. However, the opening duo couldn’t prove themselves. Both Mahesh Chhetry and Rahul Kumar failed to prove as batsmen. The openers should play nice, otherwise the pressure will shift to the unexposed middle orders. I personally believe that Nepal should bat first against Oman tomorrow, in order to give some batting practice to its 11 players.

All this week

For some days now, I’ve gone empty minded. There’s nothing to blog about, that’s why there are irregularities in my blog. It’s moving in a turtle speed. All these days, I’ve been trying to commercialize my blog, trying to put some adsense stuffs in it. But, to my sadness, I didn’t find any mean to add them in my wordpress blog. I did find some tutorials on the net, instructing the way to endulge adsense ads in wordpress, however; this is supposed to work in the software version of wordpress and not through the website, that I am using. I don’t have my own computer for the moment, and thus can’t manage to download wordpress software. Hopefully, I will buy my own personal laptop by the end of this year. Sometimes, I feel like switching to Blogspot, which offers google adsense in it’s site, but I don’t think it’s as efficient as WordPress. So, for instance, I quit this great idea. Well, I am desperate to earn some bucks from my blog, no matter if it’s in 10 or 1000 of dollars. Money should keep on coming anyway, but ethically. I don’t know how these A-listers earn 6-digits income from their blogs. May be they dedicate whole portion of their personal time in attracting more visitors, but I have no such patience and my expectation is also not very high.

Recently, NNepali has sent a comment in my ” Talk Hospitality” post. He refers “Hospitality is all massaging your customers ego… )“. For some extent, I have to agree with him. Hospitality is a service industry, however, it is much different than other form of services like banking. In hospitality, you have to give up your own ego to satisfy your customer’s ego. You have to keep customers in the first priority than your own. Often, it becomes very hard to tolerate offensive actions of some hot minded guests. But, hospitality is indeed the major source of income for the developing countries like Nepal. Hospitality can solve unemployment problem, assure the inflow of foreign currencies and encourage the establishment of other business sectors. For the moment, Nepal needs to focus much on its hospitality facility, which can uplift its economic condition and unleash more options for other sectors.

Talk Hospitality

As I am in the verge of completing my 4 year bachelor degree in the hospitality management, I feel like this is the time I need to think seriously about my career. I’ve gone through 3 precious years in this field and I still find me in the dilemma, where I was 3 years before. Was it a good investment to switch my career from the electronic engineering to the hotel management ( I had studied electronic engineering for a year before deciding to come to Cyprus for hotel management)? Am I ready to pursue my career in hotel service? These are some awkward questions and how stupid I am to continue asking them till now. But I’m sure, most of the hotel management students have the same questions in their mind. Unfortunately, there are not many channels where we can look for the answers. I haven’t found many blogs written on this career field. I have also found a hi5 group some months ago which has the hopeless members from hospitality fields. They’d also studied hotel management like me, but seem pretty disappointed with what they had found. They admitted that studying hotel management is actually wasting time and money. But what rubbish?? If it’s so, nobody would have ever attempted to study this course, and hence, there would have never been so many hotel schools in the world. The disappointment is not because there is no much future in this career, but because many people select the wrong career option. To be in hospitality field, you should be really hospitable. There is no mean of pursuing this career if one can’t withstand people around him. In this career, we often have to be quick to make decision because we have a single chance to create good impression in our customers’ minds. Most of people who fail to do so, eventually fail to enjoy this career. This is the reason there’s a big percentage of employee turnover in hospitality sector.

I’m still not sure if I have an essence of hospitality but I am learning. I will be updating my view on hospitality in my blog regularly and hope other hospitality students will join and comment.

Nepalese U-19 Cricket team-On My View

It seems the road to U-19 world cup will be very tough to the Asian associates qualifier. Not only the team has to win the Asian trophy ( or has to stand second to Malaysia), it also has to win a match against Scotland, the runner-up of the European Qualifier. Nepal, being the defending Asian champion and thus the qualifier of U-19 world cup of previous 3 versions, is looking not upset its fans this time. Poor Nepalese team, despite giving a high performance in the world cup, it still has to go through the qualification process. Nepalese team in U-19 level is much stronger than most of the test playing nations. The proof is its 2 wins against South Africa, 1 against Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh. I think Nepal should be promoted directly to the world cup by giving it one day status, like Kenya in the senior version. Kenya has no longer to play in the ICC trophy- a gateway to the Cricket World Cup.

Anyway, there’s not much to expect it to happen this time, as fixture has already been made. However, I am much optimistic about Nepal to qualify for the world cup in ease. I think we have a strong line up, consisting of some famous names, who have already proved themselves in the international level. The first name is Sharad Veswakar, who undoubtedly is the best batsman Nepal has produced so far. He has played a leading role in Nepal’s inning and get his team out of trouble many times. The captain Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Antim Thapa, Mahesh Chhetry and Akash Gupta will be other pillars of Nepalese batting. The bowling sees tough as always with Amrit Bhattarai, Ratan Rauniyar, Shashi Keshari, Rom Shrestha and Raj Shrestha in the team. Altogether, Nepal is a well balanced side, with the hand full of experiences that will be an ultimate advantage in the upcoming series.

It’s still hot in here!!

I started my blog from the information about Cyprus, particularly Ayia Napa, a tourist village where I am currently doing my job practice. For my unknown visitors, let me tell you that I am the student of hotel management in Cyprus. We have to work in the hospitality sectors as a part of our summer job training ( and that gives us a chance to earn some bucks!!). Cyprus has been a fantasy journey for people who love sun, and golden sandy beach. Myself, being a mountain boy, don’t like to be in sun too much, though I fantasize sea and beaches. And sun here is too harsh, so don’t forget to cover yourself in sunscreen lotion while heading out in the mid-day.

Well, the place where I work, is unique in itself. It’s a restaurant with elegance and diversity (as advertised in the local magazine). The name is Fiji Polynesian Cuisine. “Polynesian” itself is unique to me, and am not yet sure what it actually is(Google it if you want to know). The best thing about the place is it’s food and decor. Try the world famous “Peking Duck” and spicy “Mongolian lamb” and you will be compelled to return back. Don’t forget to request the head waiter to make your food less spicy if you are not one of those crazy spice lovers. Otherwise you will leave the premise with the burning tongue. Try the exotic cocktails in fancy polynesian glasses to relief yourself from the summer of Cyprus. Altogether, it is one of the special places to dine. You might say that I am advertising my workplace. Well, I don’t mean to do so, but I am recommending my readers a place they should visit while their trip to Ayia Napa. I won’t be there the next year. However, if you will come here next year, don’t forget to tell the staffs about me (But be sure you will not get the discount!!)

Visit www.polynesian-ayianapa.com for more details about the restaurant.

Pretty Jeon Jihyun

I bet most of my friends have never heard of this name, or do they? Jeon Jihyun is the pretty South Korean movie actress. I don’t know how I end up liking Korean movies. And I have never thought that Asian girls could be such a beauty.

Jeon Jihyun is not the only one, but there are countless. South Korean entertainment industry is full of innocent yet sexy looking actresses. Males are attractive too, but here I am concerned only with the females. Unfortunately, these beautiful angels are often marked as the plastic beauty, who’ve gone through plastic surgery to enhance their appearance. But personally I think that plastic surgery can enhance the beauty just by a small margin, it doesn’t mean to turn a complete ugly into the miss world. So, if you are beautiful, you are beautiful. Coming back to Jeon Jihyun!! This pretty lass attracted me towards her while I was watching some korean videos on youtube.com. I found an interesting CF upon Olympus camera, led by Jeon Jihyun. She was so innocent, bubbly and pretty that I couldn’t withstand myself from looking for information about her. After some hours of googling, I came to know about her and her movie ” My Sassy Girl”. This movie was considered the biggest hit of the new millenium and was responsible to bring Jihyun to the stardom. The movie was really hilarious. I watched it in youtube again because we don’t get any korean movies here in cyprus ( Go to youtube.com and type my sassy girl in the search engine).

  ( My Sassy Girl)

And the latest news is that she is now in Hollywood, working in the movie “Blood Vampire” where she is somewhat a vampire assassin. Can’t wait more to see how she looks and acts in the hollywood movies. Best of luck, my sassy girl.

Congratulations!!!

At last, the day had arrived. Two of my evergreen buddies are now the graduates from Xian Jiatong Medical University of China. I missed it. I missed the chance to congrats them on the very day. So, I am using this blog to congratulate them for their achievement. They are the docs now…so, let’s j0in hands together and wish them best of luck for their future career.
